Online Privacy Policy

San Diego Junior Theatre (hereafter referred to as "SDJT") is committed to ensuring the privacy of our members and visitors. SDJT provides this Privacy Statement to inform you of our Privacy Policy and Practices, and of the choices you can make about the way your information is collected online, and how that information is used. We make this notice readily available on our homepage and at the bottom of every SDJT webpage. In addition, as part of our compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, it is necessary for us to obtain parental permission for all children under the age of 13 to register as members or sign up for online services such as text messaging and email newsletters. Please read our COPPA Statement.

Most SDJT webpages are P3P-enabled, which allows you additional control over your personal information.

1. Information Collection and Use
We will only use visitor information to tell you about future events, if you choose to receive such announcements. Furthermore, we will not sell or exchange names or any other Personal Information about our online visitors. We will not collect, share or sell any Personal Information that is not addressed in this statement. Data collected may be shared with a company under contract to us for internal analysis and marketing purposes only.

2. Use of P3P Technology
The Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) is a privacy technology developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). P3P technology can be found within web browsers and provides you with the ability to make more informed choices about the use of your personal information online.

With P3P, you can configure your browser to automatically detect if a website collects personally identifiable information, uses that information to create user profiles, or allows visitors to opt-out of the data collection. A P3P-enabled browser has preset options from which you can choose. Or you may customize your setting by answering questions such as, what kinds of data are you willing to share and what types of “cookie” files are you willing to accept. As you surf the Web, the software then determines whether your privacy preferences match a site’s data collection practices.

3. Types of Information We Collect
Dynamic Data. Our webserver collects click-stream data and HTTP protocol elements in access logs, used solely for the SDJT Website functionality, traffic analysis, research and development. We use IP addresses to track only aggregate information regarding site traffic. An IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network, such as the World Wide Web. Networks use the TCP/IP protocol to route information based on the IP address of the destination. In other words, an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web, allowing Web servers to locate and identify your computer. Computers require IP addresses in order for users to communicate on the Internet, browse and shop. We do not collect any personal information via a user’s IP address.

HTTP Cookies. The P3P-enabled browser places special emphasis on HTTP cookies. A “cookie” is a piece of data which resides on your computer’s hard drive to allow a Web application to respond to you as an individual. By gathering and remembering information about your preferences, the Web application can tailor its operation to your needs, likes and dislikes. With a P3P-enabled browser you can make selections based on whether you wish to accept various types of cookies such as session (temporary), permanent, within a given domain or outside it (third party), and to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it, with or without a special “P3P compact policy” file. A compact P3P policy describes the attributes of a given cookie. At this time, we do not make use of HTTP cookies.
4. Policy Evaluation
P3P-compliant browsers will evaluate this privacy policy’s “compact policy” whenever it is used with a cookie. Compact policies are a form of a P3P policy which summarize what the privacy policy says about cookies. The actions the browser will take depend on what privacy level the user has selected (i.e., low, medium, medium-high or high). In addition, the browser will examine whether the cookie’s policy is considered satisfactory or unsatisfactory, whether the cookie is a session cookie or a persistent cookie, and whether the cookie is used in a first-party or third-party context.

The SDJT Compact Policy is considered satisfactory according to the rules defined by the Platform for Privacy Preferences. P3P-enabled browsers will accept cookies accompanied by this policy under the High, Medium High, Medium, Low, and Accept All Cookies settings.
5. Additional Rights for Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA)

You may be entitled to ask us for a copy of your Personal Information, to correct it, erase or restrict its processing, or to ask us to transfer some of this information to other organizations. As further detailed in other sections of this Privacy Policy, you also have rights to object to some processing, such as profiling we perform for the purposes of direct marketing and interest-based advertisement, and, where we have asked for your consent to process your data, to withdraw this consent. In some cases, you can exercise these rights through automated means. Where this is not possible you can contact us via our Site Represenative and the details further on in this Privacy Policy. These rights may be limited in some situations – for example, where we can demonstrate that we have a legal requirement to process your data. In some instances, this may mean that we are able to retain data even if you withdraw your consent.
Where we require Personal Information to comply with legal or contractual obligations, then provision of such data is mandatory: if such data is not provided, then we will not be able to manage our contractual relationship, or to meet obligations placed on us. In all other cases, provision of requested Personal Information is optional.

6. Cross-border Transfer of Personal Information
Your Personal Information may be processed by us in the country where it was collected as well as other countries (including the United States) where laws regarding processing of Personal Information may be less stringent than the laws in your country.
Where Personal Information is transferred outside of the EEA to a data importer in a country that is not subject to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission, data is adequately protected by an appropriate safeguard such as approved standard contractual clauses (by the EU Commission, the European Data Protection Supervisor or a competent authority).

7. Security and Confidentiality

SDJT has put in place commercially reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the Personal Information we collect.

8. Changes in this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, in which case we will post the changes to this Privacy Policy page, and may also post the changes to the SDJT website and other places as we deem appropriate. When we change this Privacy Policy, we will update the revision date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.

Questions
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this Privacy Policy, or for information on how to opt-in or opt-out of use of your personal data, we invite you to contact our Site Representative.
