Okwae A. Miller is an Atlanta-based emerging choreographer whose mission is to create research-based interdisciplinary work rooted in personal identity, history and the universal human experience. Representing a diverse movement background, he has trained in Classical Ballet, Cunningham, Humphrey, Limon, Horton, Graham and Afro-Cuban techniques. Miller has trained at The University of North Carolina, Duke University Dance Program, American Dance Festival School and The Ailey School. In 2014, Miller was the Fellow Artist at Spelman College and in 2015 he was awarded a residency at the WORKROOM sponsored by The Lucky Penny. He has collaborated with several Atlanta-based artists, including Blake Beckham, T. Lang Dance and CORE Dance. His choreography has been featured at The High Museum, the Modern Atlanta Dance Festival, Spelman College and Emory University. Currently, Mr. Miller is a resident artist at Bread & Salt Gallery in San Diego, CA.
